Anoushka Shankar
Anoushka Shakar was one of the American and British sitar artist. She was the first and first woman to receive an award from the British House of Commons Shield she's had Nine Grammy Awards nominations and was the first musician of Indian origin to perform live and to serve as a presenter at the ceremony. Anoushka shankar is one of the rising stars of India's sitar. She is Ravi Shankar's pupil as well as his daughter. Born in London in 1982 and spent her early years shuttling to London as well as New Delhi. The first time she performed was on stage in New Delhi at the tender age of thirteen. After that, she moved in Encinitas CA where she graduated from High School with honours in 1999. Although she is still very young, Anouskha has an impressive performing and recording career. Her father was with her to numerous performances over some time. She released her first solo album Anourag in 1998. Her Grammy-nominated Live At Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. Apart from performing in many of the biggest venues, she also is a stage performer for a lengthy time. Her career doesn't just comprise the world of music. As a tribute to her status as one of the top musicians in Asian Arts, she was given the House of Commons Shield by British parliament.
